The Pointwise User Group Meeting and Distributors Meeting 2016 will be held on 21-23 September in Fort Worth, Texas.

This event will be the first opportunity to spend a day learning about all the new capabilities coming to Pointwise Version 18 . The suite of new features is a major step forward in capabilities and includes quad-dominant surface meshing, unstructured hexahedral T-Rex (anisotropic tetrahedral extrusion), fully hybrid blocks containing combined T-Rex hexahedra, prisms, pyramids and tetrahedra, additional control over cell sizes inside tetrahedral blocks using shapes and sources, as well as enhancements to Examine, File I/O, and license management. There will also be presentations including everything from V8 Supercars and surfboards to Python and eliminating tedium and everything in between. Our other software partners Metacomp Technologies and Intelligent Light, will also be available to meet in this event.

We welcome Ulf Grimsand to our HPC team
Ulf Grimsand has 25+ years of experience from the IT-industry and has held a variety of roles in sales, marketing and operational management. He was most recently Business Development Executive at Computer Sciences Corporation, responsible for developing large scale business within the global industries in Sweden in the areas of outsourcing, management consulting and systems integration.
Prior to joining Computer Sciences Corporation, Ulf served as Sales Executive at Saab Combitech Network, responsible for develop and close new business.
Previously, he spent three years at Nicator Data as Account Manager and ten years at Digital Equipment Corporation in various roles in sales, marketing, operational and services management.
Ulf has a good understanding of companies’ business dynamics and the ability to produce value propositions to new business demands.
#1 Sweden cluster Trioliths 400 node extension is now fulfilled
The Triolith cluster at National Supercomputer Centre (NSC) in Linköping has now been extended with 400 nodes to 1600 nodes and remains Sweden’s largest and most powerful compute cluster. Linpack benchmarks was delivered for the 2013 top 500 list which were published at Supercomputing SC13 in Denver. Thriolith achieved #79 worldwide and #1 in Sweden with an Rmax of 407.2 TFlop/s. Thriolith consists of HP Proliant SL6500 Scalable System with1600 SL230s Gen8 nodes running 2x Xeon E5-2660 8C at 2.200GHz and with Mellanox FDR Infiniband.(www.top500.org)
